Woman Waiting At The Airport Gets A Romantic Musical Surprise From Her Boyfriend.

Lindsey had just returned home from a month-long teaching program in Costa Rica and was waiting patiently at the airport for her boyfriend to come pick her up. Little did she know, he had much more in mind than that.

As she sat there in the arrivals area, she was joined by two strangers. One of them started playing the guitar while the other began singing “It Will Rain” by Bruno Mars. At first she had no idea what was going on, but then she started having a few suspicions that her boyfriend might have a hand in this. Her suspicions were correct, and as she stood up to see if she could find him she spotted him all suited-up and carrying flowers, just waiting to welcome her home in the best way.

Now if this is how he picks her up from the airport after being a month away from her, then just imagine what his proposal will look like!

The two musicians were Rico Contreras (vocals) and Luis Mojica (guitarist) from Mariachi Nuevo Estilo A.D.M. in San Antonio, Texas. So if you ever find yourself in the area needing singers for a romantic airport gesture, look them up!

Does Rep. Pete Sessions, R-Dallas, no longer live in Texas?!?

http://twitter.com/#!/mrclean2012/status/433618223070593024

Rep. Pete Sessions, R-Dallas, listed a Dallas efficiency apartment as his permanent residential address when he filed for re-election:

pete sessions address

Last month, Sessions denied allegations that he no longer lives in the 32nd congressional district:

Sessions said in an emailed statement that he still lived in Dallas, though he also spent time in Florida.

“My wife and I are working hard to make our combined families work well,” Sessions said. “With five boys living in four cities and the two of us working in three different cities, it is clearly a balancing act.

That was good enough for Texas Tribune reporter Aman Batheja, who claimed on Twitter that Sessions had “refuted” allegations that he no longer lives in Texas:

http://twitter.com/#!/amanbatheja/status/425287892433252352

Sessions said he lives in Dallas, so it must be true!

Batheja’s reporting was published in the New York Times.

Some people, however, still seem unconvinced:

http://twitter.com/#!/mrclean2012/status/435887687354961920

The video above, published on YouTube yesterday by the White Rock Tea Party, can only reinforce those doubts.

From the video’s description:

Unit #1197 at 8547 Southwestern in The Village Apartments complex appears to be completely empty. Neighbors living closest to Unit #1197 report that no one lives in the apartment, and that it has been empty for years. They have not seen anyone coming or going, to or from the apartment, and have never seen anyone resembling Pete Sessions in the area — ever.

Sessions is being challenged in the GOP primary by Katrina Pierson, a Tea Party activist who was endorsed by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin yesterday.

Good Samaritan’s Random Act Of Kindness Feeds And Stuns 88 People.

One customer at a Texas Chick-fil-A took “paying it forward” to a whole new level when the Good Samaritan told staff at the fast food restaurant he wanted to leave a thousand dollars with them to pay for as many customers as that would possibly serve. As it turns out, that was enough to feed the next 88 customers.

This act of kindness completely stunned both staff and customers alike who seemed to really take this nice gesture to heart. The good Samaritan himself didn’t want to be named and only said he wanted to make sure people would enjoy their Monday, as he knew the start of the work week could be tough on a lot of people.

The best part of this whole thing is how the people being interviewed took his kindness to heart, and acknowledged that we all need to be kinder to others around us.

White House: ‘We are prepared to respond to Ebola’

CBS News is reporting that the patient diagnosed with the Ebola virus in Texas moved to Dallas from Liberia just last week.

#dfwnews city of #Dallas says man with confirmed case of #Ebola moved to Dallas from #Liberia one week ago. @cbs11 @cbsdfw

#dfwnews #Dallas says fire rescue EMS crew that took #Ebola patient to hospital used all safety precautions & is now quarantined. @cbsdfw

— Jack Fink (@cbs11jack) September 30, 2014

The federal government continues to downplay the threat posed by the virus. Unfortunately, the federal government doesn’t have a stellar track record of telling the truth lately and people are skeptical.

CDC doesn't recommend people on same commercial airline flights w/US #Ebola patient undergo monitoring. http://t.co/wjPNZ4ROTZ

URGENT The crew that transported a patient — later diagnosed with Ebola — to the hospital has been isolated.

— CNN Wire (@CNNWire) September 30, 2014

The ambulance crew are being quarantined but the people who were cooped up in a plane with the Ebola patient don’t warrant monitoring?

@CDCgov Yeah, why should we play it safe? You might not cash in if a US outbreak is avoided!

— Kevins Got Wood (@OwlbertPike) September 30, 2014

@CDCgov That's a crap shoot…

— Krafty.Wurker (@KraftyWurker) September 30, 2014

Naturally the White House was on Twitter with “FACTS” because everyone knows whatever the White House says has to be true.

Anyone else not really comfortable taking the White House’s word on what our health care system can and can’t do?

Open Carry Texas debunks that ‘terrified employees’ locked selves in freezer

Remember last year when a man walked into a Utah J.C. Penney store with an unloaded AR-15 and, well, nothing happened? There appears to be a similar story out of Texas last weekend, where members of Open Carry Texas visited a Jack in the Box restaurant with their rifles openly displayed. What happened immediately afterward, however, has been the subject of a dispute between Open Carry Texas and anti-gun group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense.

At issue is whether frightened employees hid in the freezer for fear of being robbed. An email from Sgt. Ray Bush of the Fort Worth Police Department said that employees “locked themselves inside a freezer for protection out of fear the rifle-carrying men would rob them.” That’s the story that made it into the New York Times (and has since been amended); however, a spokesperson for Jack in the Box confirmed that no one hid in the freezer.

Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, picked up the New York Times story.

Open Carry Texas has posted what it says is the only 911 call made in connection with the incident. In other words, no one from Jack in the Box called the police, let alone hid in the freezer.

The Moms Demand Action website still includes the claim that the rifles “terrified employees so much that they locked themselves in the freezer.”

Editor’s note: The final sentence of this post initially referred to Moms Demand Action as “Mothers Demand Action.” The error has been corrected.

J.R. Salzman won’t be looking for Wendy Davis at the Wheelchair Games

As Twitchy reported, Twitter has discovered that combination which would repel Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis like garlic repels a vampire:

Two things Wendy Davis hates pic.twitter.com/VEVquYjM5R

— Ulysses E. McGill (@Just_a_Texan) October 10, 2014

With that in mind, wounded warrior J.R. Salzman isn’t expecting to run into Wendy Davis at the — gasp — National Veterans Wheelchair Games.

Something tells me Wendy Davis wont be attending the National Veterans Wheelchair Games in Dallas. https://t.co/TPO7EdMzYA

— J.R. Salzman (@jrsalzman) October 11, 2014

@jrsalzman @jimmyprinceton Probably a scheduling conflict. Blame staff. Off to next screw up.

— GregEsq (@GregEsq) October 11, 2014

@jrsalzman @daveweigel Actually that is EXACTLY what @WendyDavisTexas should do.

— Sloth Fornix (@Slothfornix) October 11, 2014

Look on the bright side, Texas.

@pmbasse @jrsalzman I hope Wendy Davis packs up and leaves Texas after she gets crushed in a Texas sized landslide by @GregAbbott_TX.

— Rob Forshey (@RobForshey) October 11, 2014

@jrsalzman Since the event isn't until June Wendy will be permanently out of TEXAS..Heard she is leaving Nov 5th '14 for destination unknown

— Peni Basse (@pmbasse) October 11, 2014

Much of Twitter is still reeling over the tastelessness of Davis’ ad, and Salzman is no exception.

Boy, those handicapped people sure are privileged, arent they? They even get their own special parking places. You go, Wendy Davis.

— J.R. Salzman (@jrsalzman) October 11, 2014

@jrsalzman I know it's cliche, but can u imagine if conservative ran this ad? would be lead story on network news
