What Happened To These Twins On A Highway In The U.K. Is Absolutely Insane

Some stories are almost too bizarre to believe, since the actions of the people involved in such stories seem to defy logic and explanation. Then, just when you think there’s a conclusion, everything twists and you’re left scratching your head.

While you probably haven’t heard too many stories like that, the tale of two Swedish twins on a trip to the U.K. certainly falls into that category.

Our story begins with police questioning a pair of women alongside a busy highway. A film crew with the police catches the interaction. Then, right in the middle of talking, one of the women makes a run for it and heads straight into traffic.

She is struck by a truck and seconds later, the other woman bolts as well. However, she doesn’t make it very far before being slammed by a car.

With both women lying in the middle of the road, police have to act fast to stop traffic, attend to the injured women, and then clear the roadway.

At that point, one is severely injured, but the one hit by the car could still walk. After regaining consciousness, she bolts back into the street.

Police needed extra help to finally subdue her and bring her back to safety. All the while, the woman continued to struggle and call out for the authorities. Officers at the scene suspected that she must have been high.

A few minutes later, they’re both taken to the hospital.

You can watch it all unfold in the video below. The footage is harrowing, to say the least.

(via Adrian VERNE)

Think this story can’t get any weirder? Well, it does. Turns out that the less injured of the two women was released from the hospital and spent a day in jail. The same day she was released from jail, police found that a 54-year-old man had been stabbed to death. Nearby, they also found the woman badly injured after she jumped from a bridge onto the A2 highway.

While more recent updates are hard to come by, I’m going to keep hunting.

If There Were A Nuclear Attack In The 1970s, This Is What Would Have Been Broadcast

You might say that the 1960s were when Cold War tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union reached their peak, but that doesn’t mean that the 1970s were any picnic. The people of both nations lived under the constant threat of all-out nuclear war.

To prepare for this possibility in the U.S., radio stations in different cities were instructed to create official attack warnings. These recordings were to be broadcast to the population in the event of a nuclear strike on American soil. While these messages are ominous, they still have a friendly flavor to them since they were recorded by radio hosts.

In the video below you can hear the attack warning message recorded by Jim O’Brien for Philadelphia’s WFIL in the early 1970s…

It really makes you think about how many announcements they have these days…there’s gotta be at least one for a zombie apocalypse, right?

They Were On A Boat Enjoying The Day When They Saw This Freaky Thing Approaching

If there’s one cryptid that seems to have exhausted the interest of the public, it’s the Loch Ness Monster. Old Nessie has led researchers on what seems like a wild goose chase for close to 100 years. Still, there are those who will never give up the search for the monster of Loch Ness, Scotland. However, for the rest of us, maybe we should start looking at the lochs in Ireland for some new monsters.

This footage from 2013 shows the Nessie-like hump of a creature approaching a small boat in Lough Foyle, also known as Loch Foyle, in Northern Ireland. The creature is seen approaching one boat in a relatively straight line before disappearing beneath the surface.

Maybe Nessie switched addresses?

(via Unexplained Mysteries)

While it’s easy to jump to conclusions, we need to keep in mind that this could be a hoax. Still, even if it is, it’s a very well orchestrated one.

Footage Of A Shellshocked Soldier From World War I Will Break Your Heart

Following the end of World War I, the most powerful countries on Earth were faced with something they’d never seen before — a bizarre condition that was once known as shellshock. Today, we refer to that condition as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). But in 1918, it was poorly defined, and treatment of victims was often harsh and ineffective.

Fortunately, United Kingdom-based psychiatrist Dr. Arthur Hurst changed all that. Instead of punishing those suffering from shellshock, Dr. Hurst developed an alternative treatment involving a combination of hypnosis, persuasion, massage therapy, and dietary changes. As you can see in the video below, the physician’s treatments were incredibly effective.

Thanks to the work of Dr. Hurst, veterans suffering from PTSD today are treated with respect. Most importantly of all, they’re not subjected to inhumane practices that once kept those who served their countries from ever finding relief.

In Case You Didn’t Know…Snakes Can Open Doors (Otherwise Known As My Nightmare)

In the contest of who’s creepier — snakes or spiders — there may never be a clear winner. However, when it comes to the following video, I feel like snakes have a firm lead. Spiders, while terrifying in their own right, have their limitations when it comes to size. They can also be easily trapped in a room while you run away screaming walk away calmly.

I used to think the same thing about snakes…then I saw this.

I don’t think snakes should be this smart.

Well, shoot. Now I have to buy dead bolts for all of the doors in my home. It won’t be cheap, but I’d honestly rather be safe than sorry when it comes to home snake protection.

Watching This Guy Feed His Pet Cockroaches Is Just Too Gross To Handle

As much as we’d like to think that cockroaches are the scourge of the Earth and that they serve no purpose, that’s sadly not the case.

In fact, they’re quite useful to reptile owners. As you can imagine, cockroach farming is not necessarily a popular hobby, so the few brave souls who do so willingly are hard to come by.

One of the most popular cockroach farms in the United Kingdom is the Roach Hut. To give you a sense of what life is like at this charming establishment, they have a whole YouTube channel dedicated to demonstrating how they go about their business.

In the video below, they show what feeding time looks like for roaches. Consider yourself warned, because this footage is nasty. Can you get through the whole video?

Yeah…my skin is crawling after enduring that nonsense.

I’m just glad my apartment is free of these buggers. I’m aiming to keep it that way.

So This Is What Everyone Means When They Say ‘KILL IT WITH FIRE!’

With the imminent arrival of summer, you might soon find yourself in a situation where you need to defend your family against a deadly onslaught of angry hornets. Hornets are no laughing matter, especially if you’re allergic. If they found a hornet’s nest on their property, most people would probably call an exterminator…but not this guy. Oh no. He takes matters into his own hands…with extreme prejudice.

I’d hate to be those bugs.

(source Torch Fire Performer )

Let this be a lesson to all hornets: stay away from everyone and everything this summer. Or else, you might just find yourself invited to a BBQ with your nest as the main course…

When An Underground Water Pipe Explodes, You’re Going To Be In For A Bad Time

When people say you need to be a vigilant driver, you really should take them seriously. While accidents aren’t a guarantee, anything that does go wrong while operating a large, moving piece of machinery is instantly 10 times more dangerous than it would be otherwise. Even a moment of distraction can lead to disaster.

Unfortunately, though, being a cautious driver can only get you so far. There are just some circumstances that are truly too random for you to predict. Case in point: what happened to the poor driver in the video below. They’re being careful and watching the road, but there is no way they ever expected this…

Just wait for it.

Oh man, I really hope they were up to date on their car insurance. Freak accidents like this scare the heck out of me.

Just When You Thought Taxidermy Couldn’t Get Any Creepier, This Happens

Taxidermy as it functions today mostly falls into the hobbyist realm, and very few professionals out there make a living with this bizarre art form. Back in its heyday, however, experimentalists went wild and let their imaginations run free.

They liked to take things a step further, and they created some seriously weird stuff in the process. Just take this dancing fox, for example. It looks just as crazy as it sounds.

Talk about nightmare fuel.

Everything about this video is creeping me out. I respect taxidermists, but I think the person responsible for this thing went a little too far.

In The Battle Of Ants Versus Crab, There Is An Unlikely Winner

QUICK: Who do you think would win in a battle between ants and a large crab?

Would it help if I said they were army ants? Yeah, that’s what I thought.

Despite the size advantage the crab has over the tiny insects, the creature is still easily overwhelmed by the sheer number of ants. And no, it doesn’t help that the critters are bloodthirsty army ants.

So, how exactly does a swarm of horrible ants take down a giant crab? I’ll let the following video enlighten you…

NOPE! I think I would prefer to square off against a horrible spider than these things. At least with a spider, it’s usually just one of them. That’s simply too many ants.
