AAJA demands apology from Fox News for Tantaros’ comments

The Asian American Journalists Association is demanding an apology from Fox News for comments made by Andrea Tantaros on “Outnumbered.”

Remarking about the brutality of the ISIS terrorists who beheaded journalist James Foley, Tantaros said, “You can’t solve it with a dialogue. You can’t solve it with a summit. You solve it with a bullet to the head. It’s the only thing these people understand.”

Seems like a fairly reasonable assessment of violent jihadis. There is no negotiation with someone for whom committing violence is a religious compulsion.

But leave it to “journalists” to make a Fox News personality the villain in a story about Islamic terrorists beheading people.

Brit Hume says Brat win will hurt GOP without immigration reform

Fox News’ Brit Hume warned that tonight’s upset by David Brat will help the Democrats and hurt the GOP long-term “because immigration reform will never pass” and the Republicans “will have to proceed into the 2016 election without their name associated with immigration reform.”

Hume insisted that immigration reform is not amnesty, which surprised some of the other pundits on with him, including Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham.

James Rosen: Bergdahl converted to Islam while in captivity

Fox News’ James Rosen is reporting Thursday that Bowe Bergdahl declared himself a “warrior for Islam” and declared jihad while in captivity, documents show.

Rosen writes:

U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl at one point during his captivity converted to Islam, fraternized openly with his captors and declared himself a “mujahid,” or warrior for Islam, according to secret documents prepared on the basis of a purported eyewitness account and obtained by Fox News.

The reports indicate that Bergdahl’s relations with his Haqqani captors morphed over time, from periods of hostility, where he was treated very much like a hostage, to periods where, as one source told Fox News, “he became much more of an accepted fellow” than is popularly understood. He even reportedly was allowed to carry a gun at times.

The news was previewed on Fox News’ “The Five.”

Some are skeptical of Rosen’s sources, however, which include “a shadowy private firm” led by Duane R. Clarridge, “best known for having been indicted for lying to Congress about his role in the tangled set of events that became known as the Iran-Contra scandal,” Rosen concedes.

Update: Some more questions about the report.

Lefties manufacture outrage over Kimberly Guilfoyle’s comments

Did Fox News personality Kimberly Guilfoyle “tell young women not to vote” on The Five?

Not really.

She did express some frustration about how young women tend to vote and said, “They don’t get it.” Her opinion seems to be based on her former career as a prosecutor and experience with young women on juries. She said she “excused them” which is clearly an allusion to the jury selection process.

Even logical Mister Spock fell for the Huffpo regurgitation of a Media Matters outrage manufacturing exercise. How many of these faux-ragers do you think actually saw the show…or even read beyond the headline?

Not an overreaction. At. All.

One commentator’s flippantly expressed opinion distorted through a Media Matters lens has now become official Fox News policy apparently.

The best way to prove Guilfoyle’s opinion wrong? Spite voting, apparently.

You can watch the remarks that sent the lefties running for the smelling salts and decide for yourself if it’s worth all the pearl clutching.

At least a couple of tweeters backed Kimberly up though.

The left would probably love that idea.
