“The thing about animals is that just the image of them tends to soften people,” said a consumer psychologist quoted by USA Today. “Animals open you up, allow you to see the message and pay attention to it.”
The focus of the ad is simply getting people to sign up. USA Today reports that “Enroll America says about 81% of the public doesn’t know about the deadline,” yet the ad never mentions a deadline.
Right—the March 31 deadline to “get covered,” as they say. Because Obamacare forces everyone to purchase government-approved health insurance or pay a penalty. The crooning kitties don’t mention that.
Because the truth about Obamacare isn’t cute and cuddly.
Time will tell as to whether the campaign proves effective … oh, who are we kidding? Obamacare has been a flop from the get-go. Now it’s just dragging unsuspecting animals down with it.
The Garold Wayne Interactive Zoological Park in Wynnewood, OK, just south of Oklahoma City, is home to several different exotic animals: tigers, lions, zebras, monkeys and more. But what makes the park really special is the bond that formed between one of their big cats and a very small dog.
Bonedigger, a 500 lb lion, spends his days with his best friend Milo, an 11 lb miniature dachshund. The odd couple became friends when Milo sensed the gentle giant was suffering from a metabolic bone disease. Milo does his best to comfort him, the two cuddling and playing together. Zookeepers say Milo even tries to mimic Bonedigger when he’s communicating with other lions in the park, attempting similar huffs and puffs. Take a look at the adorable duo:
When an adorable set of baby squirrels got knocked out of their tree-home by a broken branch, this momma cat stepped in to save the day. Brought in by the cat’s owner, it didn’t take long for a bond to form. Already nursing her own kittens, the tiny squirrels fit right in. Prepare to spend the next minute saying “awwww!”
Waking up in the morning to the sound of a blaring alarm is one of the worst feelings in the world (and most of it spend 5 days out of the week doing it). It’s a head-pounding, stomach-sinking sensation. Since misery loves company, I’ll let you in on a little secret: humans aren’t the only ones who hate it.
Even this dog has a case of the Mondays…
If you thought that was funny, check out the equally awesome video of him watching himself snooze…
This adorable pup’s reaction just about summed up every “It’s Monday” joke you’ll ever see… and it’s wayyy better. Be sure to share with your friends using the buttons below next time they start complaining about their early morning!
